It’s almost officially summer time and here in Israel the temperatures have risen long ago already. The great thing about summer is the level of energy you feel when you’re outside. And although I enjoy the city, summertime means it’s beach season, which is always exciting. And so, in the spirit of summer, I thought I’d give you some important tips on how to care for your jewelry during these warm months.
Swim, sun and sand
Let’s start with swimming. Cold water will make your fingers shrink, so no precious rings near the ocean, please! Also try to avoid contact between precious stones and chlorine. Chlorine (and other chemicals used in pools) can change the sheen or finish on your gems over time. If contact cannot be avoided, always rinse jewelry post-swim with fresh, lukewarm water. The same counts for saltwater. Salt is corrosive to copper, which means exposure to red gold is a no-no. It can also be absorbed by softer stones (like coral or turquoise), which causes them to rot from the inside out. If you can’t bear the thought of going to the beach bauble-less, stick to platinum or yellow gold. The brass and silver in yellow gold help make it more resilient.
And be aware of sand. Especially when you have kids and are likely to dig in the sand or make a beautiful sand castle with them; make sure you remove rings and best to leave them at home. Sand can cause scratching on metals and stones. And excessive exposure to harsh light and extreme heat can actually crack certain gemstones. This means not leaving pieces in a hot car.
Separate packing
If you are planning to travel this season, invest in a travel case with distinct compartments. Throwing all your jewelry in the side pocket of your wash-bag is n-o-t done! For example, necklaces tend to tangle up and a diamond (the hardest gemstone in the world) can scratch other gemstones or pearls. This is why it is important to always pack pieces in individual jewelry boxes or soft cloth pouches to prevent scratching, dulling and the dreaded tangling of chains.
Creams, sprays and lotions
Sunscreen won’t damage your jewelry, however I do recommend to always remove jewels before applying lotions or creams. Over time they can build up a film on your gemstones which reduces reflective light, which means less bling-bling as your stones won’t be as brilliant.
These were my summer jewelry care tips and how to protect your jewelry while traveling. Rest me to wish you all a wonderful summer vacation. Remember you must enjoy them as much as you can, they will not last forever. Visit all the places you have always wanted to know, enjoy great moments each day to the fullest, go to the beach, go shopping, enjoy!
Bon voyage,
Anne.

Hello dear jewelry lovers,
How is your year going so far? I am all refreshed and back with some new designs swirling around in my head. 2018 is in full swing again!
From old to new
From 2017 to 2018! Let’s turn this year an old piece into a stunning new piece of jewelry. Have a look at your jewelry collection, which piece do you wear the least and ask yourself why you wear it less. If the length of the necklace is not good, or the ring size is not correct anymore, come to us and we can most likely easily adjust it for you. Or maybe you inherited a beautiful brooch and you simply don’t wear brooches? It’s a shame to let it sit in your draw, contact Lillygrace and we can together redesign the piece. Often a few little changes make it look all modern again, but we can also reuse the materials; melt the gold and make a total new piece out of it! There is A LOT possible, just come to us with your piece and be part of this magical redesign process.
New jewelry
I’d love to let you all in on the excitement of my new jewelry pieces that I have been making and added to the Lillygrace collection. One of them is a very special (engagement) ring with a twist. This 14 karat polished red gold ring is holding a pink tourmaline. The solitaire ring can be made in various karats of gold and in all colors of gold. Of course I can set any kind of brilliant cut diamond or other precious gemstone in it. I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to share this new ring with all of you, please have a look at my website where you can also find the other new designs: www.lillygrace.eu

In the passed few months I have been making lots of new jewelry pieces which are now displayed on my website.
Waking up every morning with the same desire to design, create and dream. That is wat drives me. Making jewelry is one of my biggest passions, so to be able to be in my workshop and sit behind my goldsmith bench and let my creativity flow is worth gold. It is a great feeling and satisfaction, especially when a piece that is born in a dream, finally sparkles and shines on my finger. Lillygrace is a story of passion, love, precious metals, diamonds and pearls.
Have you been on the lookout for new pieces to add to your wardrobe, check out the new Lillygrace jewelry collection created at www.lillygrace.eu/gallery. All designed and produced by me at the Lillygrace atelier in Israel. These pieces perfectly embody the Lillygrace style: femininity, comfort and modernity.
Discover my new jewelry pieces on my website www.lillygrace.eu!

A new name a new logo! It might sound easy, but for a perfectionist like me, this comes very precise. It has to represent Lillygrace and express it in every aspect. Usually, I design and fabricate everything myself but I thought it was time to bring in a professional to tackle the matter. Graphic designer Stefan Lubitz of Loope caught my attention and a great cooperation began.
After a thorough visual research and making the new look & feel of Lillygrace clear, Stefan got started. Many sketches followed and a huge variety of logo design concepts were sent to me, which I replied with my feedback. Conceptualizing the logo and afterwards the business card was an exciting process which added even more pleasure to the whole adventure of creating Lillygrace. Bit by bit ideas matured and developed where as at one point my heart was beating faster for a certain logo, it was love at first sight. Some more fining and shaping for perfection the logo was complete.
The Lillygrace logo consists out of a handmade “L”, which is rotated in steps of 60 degrees and makes an elegant ornament. This modern touch with the strong classic letters represents what Lillygrace stands for – Fresh and elegant, contemporary, original and unique, to timeless and classic.
